The Ko Murobushi Archive, carrying on the will of Ko Murobushi, began its activities soon after Murobushi’s sudden passing. The archive cafe “Shy” opened in Waseda and currently houses primary source materials, including Murobushi’s own book collection, making them available to the public.
Materials have since then been made digital, and “Where is Ko”, a unique web archive unlike any other, opened so that access to these materials from anywhere in the world could be made possible.

The Ko Murobushi Archive was established as a base in clarifying the structure of Butoh, as well as the mission of 21st century arts from an international point of view as one of its purposes. So far, the archive has hosted a variety of activities including research meetings, seminars, international symposiums, and publishing projects.
In order for these activities to continue in a meaningful way and to further expand, we humbly ask for your assistance in contributing towards the Ko Murobushi Archive.

We thank you and deeply appreciate your warm support.
